Additional info:
Adrian Preda is a contemporary visual artist, born in Bucharest in 1985. Active for over a decade, he works primarily with painting, drawing and illustrations. A connecting thread in all of Preda’s works is his acute social commentary. The artist develops sharp critiques of human supremacy over other species and of human-caused environmental degradation. His works attentively depict animals in a realist style, stressing their agency as inhabitants of a world where harmful plastics pervade in the lives of all beings. Through his inventive compositions and interventions in the painted landscape, Preda manages to powerfully capture our planetary cohabitation with other species, alongside the complex entanglements between nature and society that define our contemporary times. Preda’s works have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions locally and abroad such as at H’Art Gallery, Bucharest, Atelier am Eck, Düsseldorf, Sofia Arsenal Museum for Contemporary Art, Sofia, to name a few.
