Additional info:
Sorin Neamțu is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Timișoara, Romania. Neamțu studied painting at the University of Timișoara. From 2012 to 2019, he was also active as a curator and manager of Baril Gallery in Cluj. In many of Neamțu’s paintings, the artist explores landscapes as an art form and a way of seeing, their unreality, and the multiple possibilities that this bidimensional unreality fosters. The artist’s paintings are conceived in close connection with his more sculptural works, constructing an intricate conceptual dialogue between the two media. Neamțu’s works have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions including at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), Bucharest; Kunsthalle Bega, Timișoara; Magazzino 27, Trieste and New Gallery, Budapest.
