Ivan Kožarić (1921 - 2020) was a Croatian artist who worked in a wide variety of media, including sculpture, assemblages, proclamations, photographs, paintings, and installations. The Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb bought his entire studio for the public display in 2007. His works are characterized by a sense of mischief, spontaneity and by his nonchalant approach to life. He was one of the founding members of the Gorgona Group in 1959. He participated in many international group shows, including the Venice Biennale (1976), the São Paulo Biennale (1979), documenta in Kassel (2002) and Paris Triennial (2012). He had many exhibitions, most notably the the Museum of Modern Art New York, Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb and Haus der Kunst Munich. He lived and worked in Zagreb, Croatia.
