Trained within the field of decorative arts, Ana Maria Ceară works primarily with ceramic sculpture, approaching clay as both material substance and conceptual medium. Her academic path includes studies in Art Pedagogy at Ovidius University of Constanța, followed by an MA in Ceramics, Glass and Metal at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where she has continued doctoral research in visual arts. A member of the Constanța One Branch of the Romanian Artists’ Union, Ceară has exhibited in personal and group projects including INSOMNIA at the Constanța Art Museum, Echo Verse at the Jean Constantin Multifunctional Centre for Youth, the National Contemporary Art Salon in Bucharest, Între gând și gest at Căminul Artei, and the Imaginarium International Contemporary Ceramics Symposium. Her work develops a sculptural vocabulary shaped by archaeology, mythological memory and archetypal form, with an emphasis on compact volumes, tactile surfaces and the expressive behaviour of fired clay.
