Description
Ana Maria Micu (b. 1979, Romania)is a Romanian visual artist who works with painting alongside other mediums such as drawing or animation. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arts and Design Cluj.
Through gentle yet precise introspections on the artist’s private sphere and ever-changing personal contexts, Micu's practice revolves around the relation between memory and intimacy. Her paintings engage the use of an ample palette of colours that describe the daily metamorphosis of a familiar space into a new ready-to-be-discovered dimension. Hence, Micu carefully depicts images of these constant transformations that reconstruct a unique habitat, an impenetrable landscape that embodies a layered recollection of memories.
Her works have been presented at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, in both solo and group exhibitions.
