Additional info:
Andrei Berindan is a Romanian contemporary painter and graphic artist. Originally from Baia Mare, he holds a masters degree in painting from the National University of the Arts Bucharest. In his artistic practice, Berindan is concerned with representing the individual’s experience of history. While the minimalist background he employs throughout his paintings conveys a timeless character to the problematics he depicts, the predominantly grey or black and white compositions are inspired by his father’s work as a photographer in the 1980s. Berindan has exhibited his works across Romania for instance at Atelier 35 in Bucharest or Galleria Milenium in Baia Mare. In 2011, he exhibited at the Brick Lane Gallery in London, United Kingdom.
