Additional info:
Dorin Coltofeanu is a Romanian artist, known for his poetic painterly language. He completed his studies at the Nicolae Grigorescu Fine Art Institute in Bucharest, in the class of esteemed professor and painter Corneliu Baba. Coltofeanu’s figurative painting builds a world of fantasy and subconscious desire in well-defined shapes and soft pastel color palettes. Inviting a sense of quiet reverie, he reflects–with a lyrical tone and in balanced compositions–on themes such as the nude body, religion, nature, temporality, and childhood memories. Coltofeanu has shown works internationally in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Moldova, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Institutional exhibitions dedicated to his practice have recently taken place at the Timișoara Art Museum, Romania, and at The National Museum of Fine Arts of Moldova in Chișinău.
