Additional info:
François Pamfil was a Romanian painter, scenographer, graphic designer, art critic, and art historian. In 1964, he earned his degree in graphic art from the Institute of Fine and Decorative Arts in Cluj. His work in stage design, for which he was awarded two awards in Bucharest and in Debrecen, undeniably influenced his style as a painter and graphic artist. This influence is particularly evident in his attention to shape and lighting, as exemplified in his work Composition (1986). Pamfil’s use of geometries and colour codes may bring to mind the compositional style of Wassily Kandinsky as a possible influence. Pamfil’s works have been exhibited in Romania, Hungary, and Serbia, in both solo and group shows.
