Luca Gherasim was a Romanian-French artist and poet. He was a theoretician of Surrealism and in his time spent in Romania, Gherasim was a young member of the Avant-Garde movement and a prominent member of the Alge group (1930, 1933). During the second wave of Surrealism, he joined an artistic group that included Gellu Naum, Victor Brauner and Jacque Herold, three of the most important artists of the Avant-Garde movement.
