László Kerekes was a painter, performer and photographer. He studied art conservation at the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad (1972–1976). He was a member of the Bosch+Bosch avantgarde art group in Subotica, and during 1984/1985, the art director of the magazine “Új Symposion”, a magazine for art and culture in Novi Sad. His individual and group work has been featured in many important exhibitions and prominent institutions around the world, including Moderna galerija, Ljubljana; Susch Muzeum, Susch; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; The Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw; Museum Ludwig, Budapest; Shedhalle, Zurich; IVAM Valencia; documenta, Kassel; Venice Biennale; MACBA, Barcelona; Tate Modern, London and many others.
