Additional info:
Laurian Popa is a Romanian visual artist. He studied painting at the University of Art and Design in Timișoara, under the guidance of artist and professor Constantin Flondor. Popa’s paintings reconfigure a universe made of uncanny objects, reassembled from fragments of actually existing ones. His works transform the familiar contexts of everyday life into something peculiar, inviting the viewer to decrypt and reimagine elements of lived reality. The spaces constructed by Popa are designed to appear forgotten, untouched, and decadent, with the hidden debris of modernity taking centre stage. Laurian Popa’s works have been exhibited locally and internationally, in both solo and group shows, among others at Kunsthalle Bega Box in Timișoara, at MAG Contemporary Gallery in Como, at Molly Krom Gallery in New York, at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, and at the Arad Art Museum.
