Lucian Grigorescu, one of the few Romanian post-impressionist painters, followed the courses of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. He was forced to drop out of university due to the war but went back to finish it under the guidance of George Demetrescu Mirea. He continued his studies in Rome, Paris and the south of France. Throughout his life, Grigorescu participated in countless salons and exhibitions, becoming an innovative and emblematic artist for Romania.
