Description
Marcel Chirnoagă was a Romanian artist who graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Bucharest in 1952 and concurrently studied liberal arts. He was a member of the Romanian visual artists’ union from 1953. Throughout his life, Chirnoaga created over 3,000 works of art, including drawings, engravings, paintings and sculptures. He is best known for his engraving series “Apocalypse”, which is considered one of the most important Romanian works of art from the end of the 20th century.
