Additional info:
Nona Inescu’s artistic practice is defined by an interdisciplinary use of photography, sculpture, objects, installation and video, developed through a sustained interest in the relation between human bodies, ecosystems and material environments. Her education includes the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Inescu’s works are informed by theoretical and literary references, approaching the body as a mediating surface through which perception, affect and the surrounding world are continually negotiated. Recurring concerns include geological time, biological interdependence and the posthuman reconfiguration of the subject within environments that are at once organic and technological. Recent exhibitions include presentations at Galeria Catinca Tabacaru, Bucharest, Musée de l’Homme, Paris, Künstlerhaus Wien, Lentos Kunstmuseum, Salonul de Proiecte, Bucharest, MAMAC, Nice, Art Encounters Biennial, Timișoara, Contemporary Fine Arts, Berlin, Tallinn Art Hall and Museo della Montagna, Turin.
