Description


Pavel Ilie (1927-1995) was a Romanian painter, sculptor, graphic artist and photographer who graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts, Bucharest, in 1955 and immigrated to Switzerland 1977. In 1969, he took part in the Constructivist Biennale in Nürnberg, together with 111, the group from Timisoara. He was part of the group exhibition Romanian Art Today at the Richard Demarco Gallery in Edinburgh in 1971 where, two years later, he opened a solo exhibition. His first solo show in Romania was organised by the New Gallery in Bucharest, in 1974. 

Throughout his career, Ilie experimented with various art forms, leaving behind a rich body of work that showcases his creativity and skill.
