Saoud Abdallah transforms the simple into the remarkable on his canvases. Abdullah ‘paints’ with natural materials such as grounded rocks and, most prominently, sand. His sparing use of shapes and colours in his compositional technique accentuates what is not present. He graduated in Damascus with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2005 and got his postgraduate diploma in 2006. The artist’s work has shown in his homeland several times as well as in Lebanon, London, Kuwait, and Italy.
