Additional info:
Șerban Savu is a leading figure of the Cluj School of painting that coalesced in the early 2000s, alongside artists such as Adrian Ghenie, Mircea Suciu, or Marius Bercea. His paintings have been shown in numerous important galleries and institutions internationally, in Germany, Romania, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, or the US. The muted colours of Savu’s figurative works, often depicting scenes of everyday life in the dilapidated landscapes of postsocialist Romania, evoke the social and economic uncertainty that marked the years following the 1989 Revolution.
