Additional info:
Tudor Crîşmăriuc is a Romanian painter and an active art restorer. Working as a restorer with various art objects, Crîşmăriuc discovers a particular perspective on painting giving him profound insight into the medium. Through different material debris and dust found on surfaces, Crîşmăriuc examines a multi-layered past which gives him a distinctive analysis over artistic narratives. His practice implies a technique that reshapes the usual discourse of painting. Through particular interventions concerning colour and size, Crîşmăriuc is deliberately distancing himself from the modern manner of artistic depiction. The minimalistic patterns in dark-pale tones and small canvas sizes of his paintings describe the artist’s distinctive approach to the medium. Crîşmăriuc's paintings have been exhibited locally in Romania, in both solo and group shows.
