Additional info:
Veljko Vujačić graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Belgrade. His works are part of some prominent public and private collections (MSUV, Modern Gallery Ljubljana, Gallery Petar Linde Vienna, and the collections Noveski, Marjanović, Dražović and Vujičić). The artist had numerous solo exhibitions in Serbia, with the most recent one taking place in 2020 at Gallery B2 in Belgrade. Internationally, Veljko Vujačić exhibited solo in 2000 at Fondazione Culturale Italo-Svedese, Venice (IT) and in 1997 at Peter Lindner Gallery, Vienna. The artist has also participated in group exhibitions in well known institutions in Serbia and abroad, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade (SRB) or the Modern Gallery Rijeka (CRO). As Jerko Denegri states, “Veljko Vujačić is a painter who uses the reduced language of abstract painting, the monochrome colour fields. Vujačić creates an image of an object, a form in space. The canvas consists of a series of layers where each layer is in fact a filter of a pre-painted layer. Multiplying the filter creates a sense of blurred reality. Realities that the observer can experience and upgrade.” (Towards Minimalism, Veljko Vujačić’s Space, Bojan Muždeka, Gallery B2, 2020.)
