Description
Partog Vartanian (1898 - cca. 1954) was a Romanian painter of Armenian descent.
His paintings remark themselves through their Post-Impressionist approach to expressivity and social representation. The rural takes centre stage in Vartanian’s works in vivid, detailed tableaux that show the artist’s deep observation and immersion into the social milieu.
His works are part of many private collections and have been sold at auctions multiple times.
