Description
Adrian Ganea’s artistic practice develops across scenography, sculpture and 3D animation, drawing on his training at the Berlin University of the Arts and the University of Arts in Târgu Mureș. Based in Cluj, he works at the intersection of theatre, performance and digital image making, with a sustained interest in the ways fiction, simulation and technological mediation acquire material form. His works often construct liminal spaces, speculative settings and unstable digital environments, where the boundary between the tangible and the virtual remains deliberately uncertain. Ganea’s recent exhibition history includes Ghost Trade at Plan B, Berlin in 2022, Unholy Machine at Salonul de Proiecte, Bucharest in 2024, EARTHCAKE Biennial in Târgu Ocna in 2024, Cyberia at HEK Basel in 2021 and Sidequests at Zina Gallery, Cluj in 2020. Born in 1989 in Târgu Mureș, he belongs to a generation of Romanian artists for whom scenographic thinking, moving image and digital culture form a shared field of critical investigation.
