Description
A seven-piece water set comprising a jug and six matching beakers, executed in hammered and cast silver. The jug has a pear-shaped body raised on a circular foot, with a D-shaped handle, a triangular-section spout and a domed lid surmounted by a bud-shaped finial in ronde-bosse.
The beakers are of baluster form, rounded in the lower register and set on a circular base. Both the jug, at the rim, and the beakers, in the upper third, are articulated by a moulded band with stylised floral motifs, treated in an Art Nouveau manner. The interiors are gilt, providing both tonal contrast and functional protection.
The ensemble reflects early 20th-century Hanau production, where historicist and Jugendstil elements are integrated into cohesive table services.
