A centrepiece combining a cut crystal bowl with a silver mount enriched by sculptural ornaments. The composition is flanked by two female musicians, rendered in cast silver, integrating allegorical figuration within a functional table ornament. The crystal component, attributed to Baccarat, contrasts with the sculptural silver support, creating a balance between transparency and metalwork.
The piece reflects the elaborate decorative language of late 19th-century English silver, where centrepieces were conceived as both ceremonial display objects and table ornaments.
