Description
An oval bonbonnière of geometrised form, raised on small feet and fitted with a hinged lid. The cover is surmounted by a diamond-shaped knop, reinforcing the angular vocabulary of the piece. The interior is gilt, providing both visual contrast and functional protection.
The object is formed by pressing in a die, resulting in a clear and regular profile, characteristic of early 20th-century German silver. The design reflects a transition toward simplified, structured forms, aligned with interwar decorative trends.
The marks indicate manufacture in 800 standard silver. The maker’s mark “BT” is flanked by the numbers “292” and “40”, corresponding to workshop or catalogue references. A Romanian control mark (1926–1937) attests to later circulation and verification within Romania.
