Description
A silver spice caster of hexagonal section, raised on a short base and developed into a bulbous body with an elongated neck and a domed, detachable cover. The entire structure follows a consistent six-sided geometry, from base to finial, reflecting a characteristic English tableware form.
The pierced cover is cut with large openings for dispensing and is surmounted by a small knop. The restrained design emphasises proportion and clarity of form, consistent with early 20th-century English silver.
The marks identify the maker as Henry Wigfull (Lee & Wigfull), Sheffield, and confirm sterling silver production in 1925 through the English hallmarking system.
