Description
An evening purse composed of double circular mesh links in silver, forming a flexible body. The frame is of rectilinear form with a clasp closure, and the purse is fitted with a chain handle also constructed from linked silver elements.
The object combines cast and drawn wire components, reflecting late 19th to early 20th-century production of chainmail-style purses, where durability and fluidity of structure are essential.
The hallmark “800” confirms the silver standard, while the maker’s mark “DB” (on a suspension ring) remains unidentified.
